I Read the Anarchist’s Cookbook and Still Think Anarchy is the Dumbest Ideology but at Least I Know How to Win Fist Fights Despite Being 5’2 and Create Tear Gas

This was perhaps the strangest thing I had read in a long time. The person who wrote this was a teenager, and I must express my astonishment that he knew so much about generally illegal activities. I have never even fired a gun aside from an air rifle, and this guy knew how to convert a shotgun into a grenade launcher. The entire section on drugs was just depressing because I suddenly realized that people are willing to do absolutely ridiculous things in order to get high. The entire passage on explosives was definitely the most threatening though. In terms of a banned text, this section alone was enough to make it dangerous to be in circulation. The guns were definitely problematic, but explosives are definitely a serious threat, and his instructions were dangerously easy to follow. When I read about the author, I thought it was amusing that basically tried to get the book unpublished. If it were me, I would do the same thing, but I also would never have published the book in the first place. The book never really struck me as an opinionated or persuasive piece until the final passage, when he deemed the spilling of blood a necessary price for true change in society, which seemed out of place in the midst of the rest of the book, which was constructed almost like a manual. It was interesting to read, but unless a zombie apocalypse happens soon, I can’t imagine using any of the knowledge for any good.
